Wobbly head almost 21 weeks.

I was wondering when your babies head stopped being wobbly when held upright? I feel like my son’s head is still very wobbly. Two people have commented on this when they’ve met him which just affirms my anxiety around it. I did get him checked by health visitor just before Xmas and she said it was fine, but she just made us sit him up in our lap for a bit so didn’t feel like a proper assessment.

He’s been rolling for a while and loves being on his tummy so he does a lottt of tummy time. Just don’t understand why it’s so wobbly held upright. Literally like a bobble head.

Did your HV ask you to fill in the 4 month Ages & Stages @ruks013and if so, how did your LO score in the Gross Motor skills section?

No she didn’t. I’ve booked another appt for next week. He’s so good with everything else. He’s been holding and batting at tots for ages, can move them between hands, has been rolling and is even trying to belly crawl now. It’s just his head wobbles in one place like tiny nods when looking around or even just if he’s looking straight sometimes.

just had a look at this and he’s able to do it all, except hold his head steady in sitting position. It doesn’t fall back or slump forward but he does this tiny nods in one place sometimes

I’m not a HCP but if can do it all i would wait at this point. Maybe do some muscle building exercises like tummy time and swimming and then review it again at 6 months.

I’m quite anxious so I’ve asked them to take a look next week. Im hoping with all the tummy time he’s doing himself now, that it’ll get better. As he spends most of his time awake on his tummy by choice for the past 1.5 weeks.

That’s fine. Before you have the appointment i would film him
doing what you’ve described as you can almost guarantee that he won’t do it when they are there Grin

That’s true, I will make a video for just incase. Although I’d be surprised if he doesn’t, as he does it more often than not in certain positions!
