What will I teach my babies today?

DS is 3 since April, DD will be 2 in July.
I'm finding it hard to drag myself away from MN and play dinosaurs (again).

Any suggestions as to what I could teach them today?

Usually DH looks after them and he has been teaching them lots, colours, shapes etc.
I'm drawing a blank...

Thanks!

Is it an okay day weather wise? You could take them out a walk and look at trees, sticks, etc.

teach them?

they are babies!

take them to the park

they will ask you questions about what interests them and answeing them is a far more effecyive way to teach kids, as you already have their interest.

get them outside garden or park and have a'who can find the most interesting bug' competition. kept my two amused for hours yesterday with minimum input from me! take a bucket..

Good idea moopymoo. They have already been shoo-ing bumble bees... They are playing in the garden right now, with dinosaurs, eating my sage...

but seriously annie, just have fun with them, do whatever. talk to them. (I am sure you do all those things anyway)

don't worry about WHAT to teach them

they really are very small

Yes we do have fun, and I know they learn from play.
Just I sometimes feel I don't 'teach' them enough, as I work four days a week, and my day off is usually spent tidying up after DH's mess the rest of the week.
Still, they are now enjoying their drinks from cups wtih NO TOPS! In the garden.

I think its important to play with kids

but they know better than us what they need to learn at that age

Play is soooo important. They will "learn" from all sorts of situations, if you are in the garden, sand and water play is good, washing up bowl with a bit of washing up liquid is always a whole heap of fun, lasts for hours. Hunting for bugs, spiders and creepy crawleys. Collect leaves and do a bit of sticking/painting/printing. See if your local library do a story time, join and borrow a few books.
