Advice needed on gross motor milestones, eating and toileting - FTM boy 9 months old

I’m a first time mum at the end of her tether and feel like I am going round in circles with my health visitor and doctor.

My little boy is 9 months old and is a non roller or crawler. He has lots of tummy time but I am guilty of letting him off when he starts to get frustrated and moving him onto his front. I suspect that his lack of development in motor milestones is causing other issues though and after any advice or insight.

He eats well, in that he will try everything offered, but the only thing I can get him to eat a decent portion of is mashed green veg/carrot/potato mixed with cream cheese. He has recently had a horrific bout of constipation which I think is down to him eating the same food for dinner every night and so I am trying to vary his diet but with little success. In terms of water intake he will drink water but has refused most cups offered - he will drink from a small open cup at dinner time with constant praise and me holding the cup.

I am rambling now but short on mum friends and being told ‘he will catch up in his own time’ etc can wear a little thin.

TLDR; I am looking for a magical cup which my baby will drink from and will make him roll and crawl and have regular bowel movements 🤣

Sounds like a normal baby to me!

I think people expect babies to craw at 9
months but some take longer. Both mine were older than that. They are now lively 3 and 5 year olds.

My first DS never crawled, went straight to walking at 11 months, he hated being on his tummy. Is he still having a bottle with milk and is he having fruit as some fruit contain lots of water. I always thought the taste of food was never a problem, more the texture of it.

My oldest never crawled or rolled - he walked at 9 months and didn’t try crawling until he was over a year old. He’s a very normal healthy toddler now.
With the food just keep offering him different things alongside stuff you know he likes. And eat it with him - so if you give him some chicken with his mash then demonstrate eating it too and saying yum. Don’t make a big deal out of it, but seeing you eating will hopefully help him try it over time.
If he’s drinking from an open cup then keep going with that. Just give him
plenty of opportunities to keep practicing holding the cup etc. It does take a little while to develop all the skills needed for eating and drinking.
