does taking decongestants reduce milk supply?

i’ve been really poorly and had to resort to taking decongestants. sudafed mainly. my little girl (21 months) has been permanently attached to the tit when she’s around me. extremely fussy on it, won’t come off at night etc

i’ve googled too see whether anyone has had any experiences with milk supply when taking them and seen some women noticed a reduction. has anyone on here noticed this?!

she’s driving me mad, i’m just stuck upstairs with her as she screams when i unlatch her!!

Yes it does reduce your supply but maybe she’s constantly attached because she is feeling a little unwell too? You could try steam instead of a decongestant and maybe obe of those Calpol plug-ins?

When you’re both feeling a bit better you could try some gentle night weaning?

I can only imagine a mom and dad who are as tired as anyone can be, eager to see this article on sleep, and finding that we had made it unavailable for a little while!
