Intraoral camera and online dental app

Hi I was wondering if any mums already use an intraoral camera themselves instead of a dentist to take images of their kids teeth at home so they can forward that to the dentist. I have a very shy son and wondering if I should ask my local dentist if the option is there.

Part of the having a check up is acclimatisation; so getting a child used to sitting on the chair, having it moved, using a light, mirror and having their teeth and mouth touched. We can talk to you and them about how well they brush, foods that are good and bad for their teeth.
Unless you are an amazing photographer and can use intraoral mirrors I'm probably not going to be able to get enough information from your pictures as it's really hard to get all the teeth in focus.
Your child may not be confident at first, we'll work on that together, we'll encourage you to look at books and TV shows that model dental visits, we'll reinforce positive behaviour. Often children are shy on their earlier visits that gets better.
