Is there something about testosterone surge or is that a myth?

LOL, didn't we just Hunker. Need to do it again soon

hunkermunker · 02/06/2008 22:39

Another two pubs? As I said, nutter See you tomoz, I hope.

TC, hello lovely! Yes, must do it again far sooner than we managed this time round! DD3 is beautiful - she gave me such a cheeky grin when she looked round and saw it was me who'd picked her up

hunkermunker · 02/06/2008 22:49

rather drunken and bit crazy!

only1malteaser · 03/06/2008 13:08

Oh no my eldest just turned 3, I am away to cry!! [ponders adoption for a year or two]

hunkermunker · 03/06/2008 13:13

DS1 tells me he doesn't like my "silly voice" - ie if I shout.

I am trying Very Hard not to. He responds better if I don't.

However, he is trying my patience. He filled the toilet brush holder with water yesterday at some point - not sure when - and showed me just at bedtime, rather proudly.

lol, excellent!

I did mention your "silly voice" in your feedback, as it happens

meemar · 03/06/2008 13:17

Is he at school yet? Because that might sort it out

DS1's worst age was 3 (mainly tantrums and whining). He started school in January as he was 4 last august and he really has grown up so much.

hunkermunker · 03/06/2008 14:32

Dinny Cos I shout SO much at work, eh?

Meemar, he's at school nursery - it's where a lot of the silly stuff comes from, I think - the "you're not my friend any more" thing, which is very annoying!

He does tell me he's a grown-up quite often though (as does DS2 now - he's 2yo!)

Well I don't know what my DD1's excuse is - can't really put it down to testosterone - but it's so reassuring to read all this and to hear from some of you that it does pass. I was beginning to think I had a psycho on my hands.

Can only hope school helps ...

ladytophamhatt · 03/06/2008 16:34

I think the testosterone surge thing is a myth....if its true, all of mine are having a very long surge, ds1 is 9 FGS!!!

VictorianSqualor · 03/06/2008 16:51

Both of mine were at their worst at about 3/4 years.

DD is an absolute angel now, never ever ever breaks a rule, always does as she is told, drives me to frustration with her mess but that's all.

DS1(3 1/2) is a little shit, there is no other way to describe it, he and I have a different language, I say something, he stares at me, obviously he mustn't understand English or something. It's still not terrible behaviour though IMO, he doesn't listen, everything he thinks is fun that I say no to, he ignores my no, everything he thinks is boring that I tell him to do, he ignores, BUT he still knows just how far he can push it, he won't get violent or swear for example but he will shout No and tell em he's leaving home

Just persevere and tell yourself 'It's because he is four', DP&I are saying 'it's because he is three' very often atm. but I'm consoled that DD was like this at this age.
