Bed time , won’t get changed herself won’t let me change her , won’t brush her teeth won’t let me brush them, won’t chose a book, won’t stay in bed. I’m a single parent and my son is 7 he has ADHD and he needs connection time with me. I used to read her a story say good night and tuck her in and then go to DS and read to him- she wouldn’t be asleep but used to stay in bed - now she comes in and disrupts his story time - breaking his Lego sets while I’m trying to read - i have tried being reasonable and explaining this is his special time just like she gets special time - and walking her back to her room but she just comes back.
any tips from parents handling 2 needy kids on their own much appreciated .

What time is her bedtime? And if your DS has ADHD there is a very good chance that your DD has too.

Can you leave her with an audio story on and a light show and say you’ll pop back to check in her in 20 minutes?

So lights out at 8, but I think she is normally awake until 9:30. It’s quite a battle! The Tony box doesn’t help much. I just wish she’d stay in bed !

I totally get it. My second now has a diagnosis of AuDHD and was exactly like this.

Things that helped us were a weighted blanket, Sleepy Cream from Lush, having the exact same music and light show every night and leaving them with a drink in a no spill cup and a couple of Booja to look at with the promise of being back in 20 minutes.

Ultimately though the only thing that really work was Melatonin after diagnosis.
