My 12 week old development worries

My almost 12 week old baby isn’t responding to the sound of our voice at all. He definitely startles at loud sudden noise but doesn’t respond to our voices, rattles, hoover etc.
He also has been described by others as a very serious and curious baby. He will literally look at everything around him like pictures on walls, looking around when out and about etc. He also cries constantly when awake and wants to be on my breast 24/7. He definitely struggles with reflux by the way.

I feel like the time where he’s happiest and we have his attention is every morning after waking up. He will make eye contact with us and track us around the room, full of smiles etc. He also always gives the best eye contact when laying on his changing mat where he genuinely is happy and interacts with us by smiling and cooing back.
Other than that throughout the day, it’s hard to get his attention as he’s busy looking at other things, especially in a new environment. Even when you touch him he doesn’t turn if he’s looking at something.
Does all I describe sound worrying?

now for context, I’m freaking out because from what it sounds like at 12 weeks old he should be staring at us most time and actively responding to the sound of our voices.
My half sibling and nephew have both severe autism and non verbal and after the struggle my family have had dealing with of course I will worry and not want that for my own child. With everything inside me, I’m praying he is neurotypical.

I have already booked a GP appointment but freaking out in the meantime and I feel like it’s consuming my life.

My little boy was the same, still is and loves looking around the room. He’s very interactive and sociable when he wants to be too, but usually not in public!

It could be that he has ASD, afterall it is hereditary in most cases, but don’t be disappointed if the GP doesn’t take you seriously at this point.

At the very least the GP should refer him for a hearing test if he’s not responding to some sounds.

It’s probably worth filling in the 6 month Social & Emotional Ages & Stages and the 4 month Ages & Stages before you go and taking them with you to the appointment.

Sorry forgot to mention the constant BFing. Has he been checked for Tongue Tie and does he have any of those symptoms still?

Reading this from Kellymom might help too.

And you could always try some Breast Compressions
