im here for a handhold 😢
my boy should have started nursery in may, he did a couple of days and I took him out abd delayed until September. Now September is coming around I really want to keep him home😢
it’s only 3hrs a day, his speech is much better and I know he will be understood, I’m so worried he won’t interact.
last time I took him, he didn’t really understand the whole carpet time etc.

how have you coped sending your littles to nursery? I never had this problem with my older boy but this time the thought makes me feel ill x

Please be brave and send him. 3 hours is nothing , and it will help his language skills, interaction skills and more.
I presume he's going to a mainstream nursery, does he have an EHCP in place for extra support? (If not, get the ball rolling asap)
Honestly ( I work in Early years, on a joint special school/mainstream site) a lot of children have no concept of carpet time when they start, and children have varying levels of skills and understanding. Staff will soon get to know your little boy :)

My DS2 has autism. When he started nursery he had only a couple of words of speech , and they were very difficult to understand... and I had to put him in a taxi to get there with an escort! He was very delayed in all areas. I was very anxious but, once settled he loved it (especially his taxi ride!) and it brought him on wonderfully. His nursery staff were wonderful with him:)

Be brave :)

This was so lovely to read, thankyou so much for the encouragement. I think I wouldn’t want to mess anybody around and I’ve already delayed him from may-September. The nursery saved his place for me. (Yes mainstream)
I don’t have an EHCP as of yet, I haven’t been told anything about this at all.
there was a few things that worried me when he first started.
real strange but I’m not allowed to put the tv on or it sends him into a meltdown. During snack time nursery put the tv on and he goes into meltdown and smacks it, try’s to find the remote to turn it off.
(he will watch tv) but he has to be in control of it. As a lot of other children started in April/may, they are used to the tv at snack time etc, stuff like this really worries me🥹😢

I do keep trying to think of the positives. He’s my last baby, and I feel a bit more protective over him😢 xx
