wondering if there’s more going on?!

so my little girl has never slept through the night, or longer than say 4 hours in one stretch!

she’s 18 months old, eats solids well and is breastfed. i have wondered whether it’s just an attachment thing. but even when i have her with me in bed she still wakes a lot wanting to feed/latch on

ive tried pain relief if its her teeth, doesnt help. i’ve adjusted wake windows/nap lengths etc

i’ve been jiggling her naps around and i do find she’s better with a big sleep in the day so currently our day looks like this -

wake between 6:30/7am
nap 12-2ish (sometimes 12-1:30pm)
bed between 8/9pm

does this sound right for her age?! we have only been doing this routine a couple of days so i know it might take time to adjust

also does night weaning massively help with the waking? me and her dad split in january and she’s going to start going for nights at his house so i’m wondering whether she’ll just naturally adjust to not needing a boob to sleep! (she naps there in the day no problem)

sorry for the essay. i’d just bloody love to have some sleep back 😂

Night weaning really helped us here. I’ve seen some posters say that they still have a wakeful baby just one less things to use to soothe them but for ours, the wakings did cut down a lot.

The schedule sounds within the normal range but near the upper end in terms of total sleep. After a week or two, if you find she's still waking a lot, you might want to try shortening the night sleep slightly – she might not actually need quite that much sleep, and that could be contributing to the night wakings.
