My daughter is 2 she will be 3 next month, just lately she’s developed a bit of a stutter, she gets stuck on words and you can see in her face it’s really annoying her, just now she wanted to tell me she liked her toy and she was like mummy I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I like this toy, but when she got stuck on I her face was all screwed up like she just wanted to get it out, Has anyone’s child had this and grown out of it? I know it’s not the end of the world but I don’t want her to struggle 😢

My ds had a phase of this around 2 or 3. In his case his brain seemed quicker than his mouth and he couldn't say things quick enough. He had an astonishing vocabulary at his age and knew exactly what he wanted to say but it didn't come out.

It didn't last long (maybe a few months) and we didn't need any intervention other than being patient when he was trying to talk and not talk over him. His nursery was great at getting a bit of advice for us too. They suggested it was effectively a developmental leap and everything needed to catch up with the rest of him (not a technical explanation).

DD had a speech impediment for a while too. Hers took longer to grow out of but by 5 had largely gone.

She said this morning, where’s daddy? I said he’s gone to work, she said oh, has daddy gone to work to get money to buy me a doggy? 😂
