My daughter is 2 she will be 3 next month, just lately she’s developed a bit of a stutter, she gets stuck on words and you can see in her face it’s really annoying her, just now she wanted to tell me she liked her toy and she was like mummy I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I like this toy, but when she got stuck on I her face was all screwed up like she just wanted to get it out, Has anyone’s child had this and grown out of it? I know it’s not the end of the world but I don’t want her to struggle 😢

My son 2.5yrs has started doing this too, I work in early years and I’ve seen it a few times! Normally nothing to be concerned about I think their mouth just can’t keep up with all that they want to say in their brains! I just wait patiently and let him finish what he’s trying to say and don’t say it for him. I wouldn’t be worried at the moment

Yes a young boy I worked with had the most horrendous stutter I've ever heard. He is now 13 and it's pretty much gone. If he is stressed it can happen. Speak to health visitor as well

I think it’s normal? My 5yo still does it, I think their minds work faster than their speech so they are trying to get words out but get stuck. My son is bilingual so it may be a factor. Get her checked if you are worried, but it may be too soon to tell if it’s anything more than an age thing

Get her to sing it if she gets stuck. Pick a tune she knows
