My 3yr old won’t stop being on the sofa/floor/bed

Okay so I just want to start by saying I’ve asked my DD why she’s doing this, I ask her all the time if she needs potty, and she’s also completely capable of using the big toilet. For the past maybe 2 months? She’s been peeing in her bed, coming into our bed in the middle of the night and sleeping with us all night, sometimes even peeing in our bed.

if it’s not that, she’s now peeing on the floor, and in the sofa. Last week alone I had to wash all of our towels 3 times (We have over 7 towels and there’s only 3 of us)

This week she’s peed on the sofa 3 times.

She knows what she’s doing is wrong, she’s smiling when I’m asking her why she’s doing it, overall she is being a bit of a nightmare child.

there’s nothing that’s suddenly changed in her life, she isn’t going through that changes that I’m aware of and I’ve tried Googling this so many times.

I have no idea how to react or punish this behaviour. Gentle parenting isn’t working, shouting doesn’t work, I just don’t know how to make her understand this behaviour is unacceptable.

I really hope someone has some good advice

lots of love,
one very stressed out mum

She may have a urinary infection.I would get a sample pot on Monday from the GP surgery as the first thing to do.Does she drink plenty of water not squash?Obviously you can’t have her weeing all over the house just not acceptable.Pull ups would she accept that? Good luck.

I’ve been thinking about pull ups but not sure what times of day to use them? I’m trying to convince her to drink lots of water and she’s relatively good with that. Is it really something we need to go to the GP over?

Agree with asking the Doctor’s surgery to test her urine.

If she’s wetting at night could she go back into nappies at night? If you can get some washable nappies ate goid because they feel the wet.

She’s only wetting at night sometimes but I think it might be due to her having nightmares? She’s told me she has bad dreams sometimes
