Hi, I have a 3 year old daughter who loves music and dancing but is quite shy. She's getting a lot better but I'd like to help to encourage her. Someone mentioned Stagecoach and said that she'd love it. I think they start at 4 years old?
I just wondered if anyone knows any more about it, and how much it costs. Also, are they quite pushy and strict or is it somthing that would boost her confidence and re enforce her love of music and dancing?
She has a speach disorder which is improving with therapy but I think this might me knocking her confidence, but she has become really expressive in other ways eg singing, dancing and being a bit of a comedien. I'd be really greatful for any info.

DS2 has been going since he was 4 (he's 6 now). Not pushy at all. Lots of games. He was very shy and now he's not really shy at all- especially in class assemblies etc

I chose it because I felt he needed some time of his own away from disabled ds1 and its worked well for him. I'm in 2 minds as to whether to start ds3- probably not unless he really wants to - because he's not so keen on 'instruction' iykwim, whereas ds2 loves it!

Thanks, I've had a look and it is really expensive. I'd have to make sure that she would really enjoy it. It looks good though.

It's not that much when you work out amount per hour iyswim. Are you looking at Earlystages, the 7+ classes are very expensive as they're twice the length.

I looked at the 4- 6 prices. It probubly is quite reasonable but she's at a nursery linked to a private school so if she stays on at the school, it will work out very expensive. If she goes to a state primary though, it will be fine. I havn't decided yet.

My DH is a stagecoach early stages teacher. Yes it is expensive but the school he teaches at lets you have one taster seesion without charging you. He plays lots of games and teaches the children new songs. There is alot of encouragement to use imagination, the children really are engaged in his class,(not just saaying that beacuase he is dh). He normally works all term working towards a show they put on for parents etc. The comments he gets from parents at the end of the show are alwways positive and usually based on levels of confidence etc. He gives all of the children a chance to shine and treats them all as indivduals and includes everybody.

It does sound really good. I tried taking her to Ballet and first time she joined in quite well (with me) but when I took her again she refused to join in at all. It might be worth waiting until she's older.
