Hi my boy is 1.5, he is almost 3foot tall and weighs 11kilos (according to my bathroom scales) he has always been long and slender, he eats well....no stodge as I myself eat very little of it, so his diet consists of cereals, fruit, veg, fish, chicken, meat, eggs....he gets little to no chocolate or processed foods. But people comment on how slim he is! Is this because I am not feeding him enough fats? He does eat oily fish and full fat milk......so he is getting the right kinds of fat just not hydrogenated...but of course now I am worried!...he is a fairly new walker...the last 2 months or so and I know that can be relaited to his change in appearance....is that all it is? heres a rough daily menu -
breakfast - 2 weetabix/banana/11 ounces of milk
lunch - 2 egg omlette with a whole pepper/small onion/cheese
tea - pasta/cherry tomatoes/garlic/onion
snack - yoghurt/raisons/apple/orange(2 snacks a day)
just lookin for reassurance. thank

That sounds a fantastic diet, and tons more than ANY of my children eat! I'm thinking 11kg is about 22lbs? Ds2 is 2, and only weighs 24lbs, and ds1 is a stringy bean, and weighs 3stone3 (he is 7). They all have their own body shape, and he sounds like he is naturally slim.

Sounds fine to me - I've got a naturally slim toddler too, its amazig how people think that for children to be healthy they should be overweight.

He sounds fine to me. But if you think he needs building up a bit, some carbs with his lunch would be good. They need it for fuel, particularly when they start walking and using up tons more energy.

Don't worry what other people say (and slim is a compliment, unless said with a look that implies they mean thin...) - if he's a good height, active and otherwise healthy, then what could be wrong with him or his diet? My 4-year old son is just above the 75th centile in height and just under the 25th centile in weight on the charts. No-one has ever told me there's anything wrong with that - largely because he eats like a horse, has been long and skinny since birth (so didn't drop down the centiles in weight, albeit he went up them in height) and looks just like his father. 50 years ago, I doubt anyone would have commented that your child looked slim, as most other children his age would probably have looked like that.
