Hi everyone, I'm battling with my own thoughts, DD is my forth child and is 18 months old, she says many words I'd say over 50 easy, she points and signs for things she wants and also asks with words like choc choc, bic bic, juice ect.
My concerns are she rarely responds to her name being called especially if shes watching ms rachel or playing, her eye contact isn't great unless she wants something like blowing bubbles or asking to go on the swing then it's brilliant.
She walks on her tip toes I'd say 70% of the time and sometimes walks with her chin on her chest looking down, shes only really affectionate with me and seems very independent.
If you ask her for a kiss she will give you her forehead but will happily give her teddies a proper kiss, she pretend plays feeding her toys and pretends to talk on the phone.
She screams blue murder when putting her in the buggy but then instantly goes quiet when we start moving.
She throws herself to the floor with tantrums over the littlest thing.
I know this will sound like a lot of normal toddler behaviour but my main concern is the not responding most of the time, my eldest is autistic my middle 2 are NT and I don't know if I'm just looking for things too much but it's driving me crazy and its been a long time since my eldest was a baby he's 23 this year!!.
I will add shes had 2 hearing tests already as she has a cyst at the opening of 1 ear witch covers 90% of her ear canal but she passed her hearing test, she has another appointment in August for the cyst they will be removing it i just don't know when.
Sorry for the long post and thank you

Hello

That's a wide age range!! I applaud your energy at doing it all again when your oldest was an older teen!!

I think it's very difficult to say at that age & impossible when you don't see them yourself, so I'm not sure how anyone can help you really. Some things you say seem to indicate yes & some no.

i would say try not to worry about it, what will be, will be & there's nothing you can do at this stage that will change anything.

shes at an amazing age/stage, just try to enjoy it Try to have as much patience as humanly possible. Regardless. It must be SO hard being a toddler & not always being able to say exactly what you want to & not always getting what you want even when
you can, & these massively unreasonable parent creatures stopping you from swimming in the duck pond or flying from the top of the climbing frame & their mad obsession with eating certain things & not others.

life with toddlers.... 😍

Thank you, shes as bright as a button she really is and I love every minute of her, I always have the outlook of what will be will be and it really doesn't matter to me if she is ill love her all the same I just don't want to waste professionals time if there's nothing wrong but then I know how important early intervention is and I know it's a lot harder now than 22 years ago!!!, she was a surprise baby a present for my 40th birthday haha I wasn't planning on doing it all again but she was meant to be, I have a 22 year old a 19 year old a 11 year old and a 18 month old haha life is never boring here that's for sure x

Just a little update, she now is nearly 20 months old and now says over 100 words, is stringing 4 words together will give you a proper kiss now and ask for 1, she points to everything she wants and asks for things she wants, her eye contact is still not the greatest but she does look at you for your response to things, tantrums have got a little worse and she still walks on her tip toes, her response to her name has got a little better but it's still hit and miss, so still showing some red flags but is the smartest little girl, she knows all her animals and the sounds they make, all her colours and can count to 14.
