Hi lovely Mums,
Hope you're all surviving the week! My little one just turned two and we're deep into toddler TV. We have our regulars, but I'm curious if anyone has found some great shows that really focus on specific themes or even personality traits?
Like, anything genuinely good for teaching kindness/sharing, sparking curiosity/problem-solving, or helping with big feelings/emotions? Or maybe something for a high-energy toddler that's engaging but not over-the-top?
Looking for stuff on CBeebies, Netflix, iPlayer etc., here in the UK. Any hidden gems or unique finds would be amazing!
Thanks a bunch! x

otally get the TV hunt! It's tough finding the good stuff. Here are some quick picks based on what you're looking for:

  • Kindness/Sharing & Big Feelings: Bluey is gold for this – seriously so much empathy! And Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood (CBeebies/Netflix) is fantastic for emotions with all its little songs.
  • Problem-solving/Curiosity: Octonauts (Netflix/iPlayer) for gentle exploration, or Numberblocks/Alphablocks (CBeebies) for pure learning.
  • High-energy but not over-the-top: Peppa Pig is often a safe bet for simpler stories. Hey Duggee (CBeebies) is brilliant and positive. While Cocomelon and Wolfoo are high-energy, some find them a bit much.
Hope this helps narrow it down! You'll find what clicks. Good luck in your parenting!

Bear in the Big Blue house is lovely for that age (Disney +) lots of nice gentle stuff for sharing and general toddler life, and also lovely songs .

Miss Rachel on youtube for slightly educational (if you can bear the accent)

Andy's animal adventures Cbeebies for anything nature related,. my dgs has been obsessed with it since aged 2, now 4 and into David Attenborough!

I love Bluey but I think some of it is more enjoyable for parents at that age, however I'd happily watch it without the kids😆

I cannot recommend Treehouse on Milkshake! (my 5) more! It's wholesome, developed with your toddler's development in mind + it is all about themes of kindness, friendship, the environment, sharing...all of the good stuff. It's similar to the 90s and early 2000s live action shows...it's perfect! It's the polar opposite of cocomelon
