Struggling with my nearly 5 year olds behaviour

I am really struggling with my almost 5 year olds behaviour. They are well behaved in school apparently, but as soon as they come home they are behaving badly doing things such as hitting or biting their younger sibling/their grandmother, running off etc. They often don’t listen either. My husband and I have tried talking to them, time out, incentives for good behaviour but I am feeling so down about it at the moment as I’m not sure where we are going wrong and if we are failing them somehow. I would really appreciate any advice or recommendations for podcasts/books on the subject. Thank you.

Hiya have you heard of After School Restraint Collapse? There’s a bbc bitesize link here but worth a wider google too. It is often an ASD trait (but not exclusively, there would need to be other behaviours too I believe) https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/z863cxs

What is after-school restraint collapse and how to manage it - BBC Bitesize

After-school restraint collapse isn't unusual. Your child has been managing their emotions and when they get home, it's time to let it out! Here are some expert tips on how to cope.

Also how soon do they eat after coming out of school? I’ve seen improvement in child by ensuring they immediately have a snack. But that might just help for mine.
