DS (3) is showing agressive behaviour in nurserly. How can I combat this? Tips please?

Hi, My son has been showing some agressive behaviour in nursery. He bit another child (last week) and squeezed another childs face. (today) This has only just started happening. He's 3 and 7 months.

My childminder drops him off and picks him up, and she is asked to stay behind so they can discuss the days events. Usually they say he's been fantastic/brilliant etc, but once a week they are letting us know if an incident of bad behaviour.

After todays incident, they have asked the childminder to ask me to drop him off or pick him up next week, so they can discuss things with me. That's fine, but they want to recommend that if he's been naughty, they call the childminder and she collects him early from the session!

Would you say this was a good idea?

Anybody got any great tips to try to stop this unfriendly behaviour?

Time him out and give the other child a lot of attention then make him say sorry. Also ask them to do observations on him to see if something in particular, like the same toy or child, is causing these incidents.

They want to send him home? never heard anything like it! What type of nursery is it is it a day nursery? Bet they would still make you pay for the full session!

At that age he might be bored of the activitys on offer thats quiet common at the higher ends of the age ranges in the rooms.

But they are trained and should have experienced this many times. Its not as if its a lot of bad behaviour Ive worked with children who do more than that an hour!

I'm really sorry but my ds went through a phase of this and the nursery worked with him and he has imoroved no end. Sending him home is really a weird way to treat this. Given that the childminder takes him and picks him up I sort of assumed it was a sessional pre-school type nursery.
