Should I be worried about my 15 month old baby’s development?

Hi,

Posting on here for some more traffic.

My DD is 15 months and although I think she used to sometimes respond to her name l've noticed for the last two days she hasn't really been responding. She doesn't point either.

She does clap, wave (on her terms) and has started giving me toys when I put my hand out and say 'mummy have it' she does say hi, bye, eat, 1, 2, 3, sheep, cracker, baby and a few other words.

Can eat well with her hands, is getting better at using a spoon/fork and can drink from an open cup if I hold it (she tries to drink from it when she holds it herself but drops the water everywhere so needs more practice)

She can walk whilst holding on to furniture or her walker, can't walk unaided yet.
I had bad PND in the first year of having her and admittedly didn't do as much with her as I should have.

She was born at 37 weeks so was full-term.

She has got CMPA and her dad is being assessed for autism (just as some background).

Should I be worried?

Im so sorry that you’ve had PND. Are you still receiving any support? The https://pandasfoundation.org.uk/. PANDAS Foundation have a very good reputation.

Your DD sounds absolutely lovely. I’m just wondering how she did on her 12 month check?

@BunnyRuddington thank you. She was a little bit behind and the HV did a follow-up visit a few weeks ago and she had picked up in many areas (besides the pointing) and she said she was quite happy with the progress.

DD was engaging, smiling and playing with HV too and even went over to her and gave her a hug, she said she had no concerns.

It’s me that is concerned due to the lack of pointing and her responding to her name sometimes only. I’ve realised today that she’ll respond if I say her full name but not just her first name which is weird because I rarely address her by her full name. We use a lot of nicknames (they change every week to be honest) so maybe that’s where we’re going wrong as there’s no consistency.

Will take a look at that link, thank you

I think it’s good that the HV did a follow up appointment and being consisted in what you call her sounds like a good plan Smile

If you’re still worried you could always fill in the 15 month Ages & Stages and the 18 month Social & Emotional Ages & Stages.

Try to bear in mind though that your DD is at the very earliest point for both of those.
