the more he sees you react the more they tend to do it try if possible to leave to own devises

at that age there normal meal requirement would be 1 tablespoon portion per portion

1 tablespoon per yr until able to eat same size meals

try to encourage well done for eating let dc eat with fingers or feed themselves my ds wanted to be very independant at this age didnt want to be fed so i would dissapear for few mins keep checking lots of prasie until appeared to have had enough

watch what foods spitting out maybe gone off it

1 tablespoon???? My 12 month old DD is overeating in that case

My 18mo DD eats at least 10 tablespoons at dinner sometimes (and is skinny)..1 doesn't seem very much for an average portion, but some children eat less than others and you should't worry if they seem to eat like a bird - some days she spits and hardly eats anything...!!

no not that they have to eat a tablespoon portion but if thats all they eat they are not starving themselves

my ds at one would eat massive dinners then appetite really decreased and i felt he was getting enough then i was given the advise to reassure me that they do drop in sizes of portions from around 1 half

it should be a tablespoon per portion mash veg meat
