15 months Milestones

Hi I’m worried about my 15 months old as I remember his brother was doing all these things at his age.

He still isn’t pointing or clapping ( well he claps but on his knees & will wave randomly but not on demand)

He does put his hands up to be held and give kisses and if I put my arms out he will run over. He also only says Mama and dada but to the correct person. He was walking at 9 months so physically is advanced. He chases his brother around laughing but doesn’t really show interest in any other children. Gives good eye contact and does things like bringing his bottle over if he has no juice left and things like that. I’m just so worried about the pointing and clapping. Sometimes he will also ignore us if he’s doing something but most times turns for his name? Childminder says every child develops different and doesn’t seem worried but I can’t help compare him to his brother with development.

Does this sound worrying? Has anyones else’s child done these things later?

Could you contact your health visitor for reassurance? I think they’ll probably say the same as your childminder, but they may be able to offer a bit of support in terms of his communication.
My son was also walking at 9 months and compared to other kids the same age I felt like his speech was a bit behind and wasn’t really waving as much as others etc. When I spoke to the HV she basically said they all develop differently. And because he had focused on the physical side of his development from so young, it just might take a bit longer for the communication side to develop. They can focus more on one thing for a while. I definitely remember babies who were way more advanced in their speech but weren’t as far along physically.

Ah thank you that’s true I didn’t think of that. I think I might contact HV and see what they say. I Google things and worry need to stay off Google haha. Thank you for replying xx
