How do I stop DD inserting objects where she shouldn't .... ahem?

DH has just caught DD2 (3) sticking a (sweetie) cola bottle into her vagina twinkle and then attempting to eat it. This is certainly not the first time 'things have gone missing'. She thinks its funny and interesting but i'm worried. Any thoughts?

She's unlikely to do herself any harm by doing this - I'd put it in the same category as nosepicking, iyswim.

I'd probably work on the "those bits are private, please don't fiddle with them in public" and enjoy the whole sweets element.

BEAUTlFUL · 11/05/2008 15:50

What are you worried about? I think if she just thinks it's a bit of fun, you're OK.

I only have boys so can't be a great help. But I do know my eldest son loved to play with his willy all hours at that age.

Sorry, not v insightful.

DrNortherner · 11/05/2008 15:51

Well I think she's worried about her eating a sweet after sticking it up her fanjo personally!

DiscoDizzy · 11/05/2008 15:52

Worried about! she has a milk cup with a spout on it that she tried to sit on, i.e putting the spout up her bum!

I only have a ds and he always fiddles with his willy but if hestarted rubbing his willy al over his ham sandwiched before eating them i'D be concerned.......

Sorry disco no advice, but perhaps a story to retell in many years to come

bonkerz · 11/05/2008 15:54

my DD is 2 and also enojoys touching herself there and when told to stop will put her fingers in her mouth (YUCK!!)
Im hoping its a phase and am just reinforcing the 'dont do that darling its not nice' thing!

DiscoDizzy · 11/05/2008 15:54

along with the story of how she went through the phase of peeing like a boy, i.e sorting her 'bits' out and standing over the toilet!

I totally missed the point, didn't I! LOL at self. Now you'll all assume I'm someone who thinks it's fine to use her fanjo as a serving bowl for dips and fondues.

morningpaper · 11/05/2008 16:03

PANTS ON WHEN EATING is a rule in our house

umberella · 11/05/2008 16:04

LOL! sorry no advice and i am sure i have all this to come but ROFL here!!!!!

NotQuiteCockney · 11/05/2008 18:29

Yes, pants on when eating sounds like a good rule. I think we have that one - I'm keen on the 'no bare bottoms on the sofa/chairs/whatever' rule, and the 'sit down while you eat', so I think they end up wearing pants to eat ...

DiscoDizzy · 11/05/2008 19:46

Oh but its not just the food issue really, thats just an example. She's quite the naturist and whenever she's naked she's trying to insert things into her bum hole etc. I know its curiosity but i'm concerned that somethings gonna get lost or stuck up there. She's got bright green floaty poo today. God knows why, must google it.

Things in her vagina are less likely to cause problems than things in her anus, for what it's worth. (you can lose things in the anus, more or less, but not in the vagina - and of course things that go up the anus then have some poo on them, which isn't great for health)

In either orifice, I'd think abrasions etc were a risk, too.

Probably a bit of a blanket rule against inserting things? Or at least a serious chat with her about the risks of losing things, or hurting herself? I dunno, my boys don't show signs of trying to shove things up their bottoms.

I'll have to talk to her about it next time it happens. I mean we do now but she seems to take no notice, its amusing to her. She's rather a freespirit. To look at her you'd have thought she'd been born in a cave, but thats why I love her I suppose. Oh well till next time it happens. Thanks

Three-year-olds are a bit like this, I'm afraid. They are random and weird.

DS2 has been a lion for a week now. So I would know.

DiscoDizzy · 11/05/2008 20:04

lol at lion.

I don't ever want her to change, she's funky cool in her oh so smart dress, peppa pig wellies and mad funky curly hair. Just perhaps like her to perhaps not be so headstrong.

Good luck with that.

Seriously, he doesn't answer to his name and he growls a lot. When he speaks, which isn't often, it's low and grunty and not very chatty.

DiscoDizzy · 11/05/2008 20:08

Is he called Leo by some strange coincidence?

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 11/05/2008 20:11

Actually, is rl name is very close to that!

But as he's a lion, his name is Tigs. Short for Tiggers or something. Of course.
