Please any help / suggestions needed!!!

I have a Baby Boy, just turned 16 months. For the last 4 months every night without fail wakes up around 2am and won't go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!

We are consistent with Nap times and bed time (7pm). He wakes up screaming, and take 20 mins to calm him down! Sometimes we have to feed him as it's the only way to stop him crying. He will then still wake up at 5am!

He's fine during the day, happy, smiley boy! Eating well, napping well!

I noticed last month that he is cutting 6 teeth! and I wondering if that might be the cause of our problems?

Nothing seems to be working for the teething pain!

Any suggestions would really help!!

we need some sleep!

You're experiencing the hell of split nights. We had those for a short while. How many naps is he on? If it's two, drop it to one. If it's one, cut it shorter - our little lady dropped to one nap at 15 months and initially did well with up to 2.5 hours nap time, but then the split nights started at 17 months, so we cut her nap to 1.5 hours. It can take a couple weeks for the schedule adjustment to take effect, but it worked for us. One of the main causes of split night is too much daytime sleep. The worst case scenario is that it's developmental and if so, you'll have to ride it out. Even the sleep experts admit that sometimes no matter what you do, split nights will happen anyway until the developmental phase is over. I really hope that's not how it turns out for you! Good luck.

I second what @teaandkittehs said – he mostly likely needs either less sleep, or the same sleep arranged differently so that he gets a longer wake window before bedtime. If adjusting the naps won't work, sometimes pushing bedtime back a bit works. Both mine had the unfashionably late bedtime of 8.30 or so at that age for this exact reason.
