Whats everyone's opinions on dealing with sudden "fussy easters"?
My 3 year old used to eat all sorts of foods, whatever was put in front of him, hes never had a big appetite but currys, pasta sauces, chilli concarne, whatever we made me would eat until satisfied, but recently hes been saying he "doesnt like it" to almost everything we offer except plain pasta, plain rice, toasts just generally plain foods, as a former nursery nurse i know this is very common but as a parent now i dont know the best way to go about it.
Do i continue giving the same meals as we always did and mixed as usual (as opposed to curry seperate to rice for example) and him inevitably refuse and end up with toast later?
Or do i just give him things seperatly so he will he at least eating some of it even tho he will still be refusing the thing he "doesnt like" (only eating the plain rice and refusinf the seperate curry for example)
I never make a big deal out of his refusal, i usually ignore the immediate comments of "i dont like that" or just simply say "okay" and continue to eat mine, but just want to know ways people would suggest best to deal with it going forwards.
Please note im never going to force feed my child so the old school "your not leaving the table until you've eaten it" isnt an option for us and i also would never let him go to bed hungry so i will also always make him a piece of toast or somethinf if he has refused his tea
