5 month old settles down for the night with no problems normally but come 3-4am will roll over in her sleep and wake herself up (and parents!!).

She will go back to sleep but do the same again every hour until we get up at 7am.

Any advice for stopping the rolling over during the night?

sorry but you can't, she'll eventually learn to roll herself back. Give her lots of tummy time during the day and encourage her to practice rolling back and forth. thats about all you can do. its annoying but its actually a big step forward in her development

tuck her in tightly with a thin sheet - this is what we have started to with DS2 also 5 months as he gets very distressed when he turns over and can't yet settle to sleep on his tummy. With the blanket tight across his tummy he can't roll over and is sleeping much better. We stopped tucking DS1 in once he was crawling and moving around the cot easily - about 7 months iirc. hth

You can buy a little device which is like 2 padded rolls with a fabric sling between them - baby lies in the middle - we had one for one of ours, it was great. Not sure how long its suitable for but I'm sure we used it for a year or so. Try blooming marvellous?

My DCs always seem to try out their new skills in the middle of the night - rolling, holding toes, sitting, standing. Once they have got the new skill they stop doing it.

have you tried a baby sleeping bag? Don't worry though she'll soon learn to roll back over and won't wake you to do it for her anymore

Oh I remember DD doing that! All I can say what everyone else has said - that it will get better

Yes it does get better. DS used to roll onto his tummy during the night, then cry cos he couldn't roll back. He's now nearly 6 months old and can roll from his back to his tummy to his back again, so doesn't wail during the night any more (except when he wants a feed).
He must have got a liking for being on his tummy though as, when we check on him at intervals during the evening/night, he's nearly always asleep on his tummy with his head to one side, with a thumb in his mouth. If we roll him over onto his back, he rolls straight onto his tummy again.
