Do all 4 year olds talk this much?!

My just turned 4 year old DD, never stops talking and I mean never. And if she isn’t talking she’s singing or humming or making some other silly noise, unless there’s food in her mouth or she’s in front of a screen she’s making noise. It’s constant and if I’m honest it’s driving me insane! I’ve tried to practice quiet time with her in the car because I can’t concentrate when she’s asking me a thousand questions but generally it lasts 30 seconds then she’s asking if she’s allowed to whisper. Is this normal? Is there something going on? Generally I would say her development is on point perhaps a little ahead, she was a little late to talk but not by much and caught up very quickly (first words about 18 months and full sentences by 22 months). She’s very well behaved, no tantrums ever not even as a younger toddler, can follow instructions well (although does get distracted at times but I assume that’s pretty normal), plays very well with other kids, good at sharing and turn taking, popular with nursery children and staff, her vocabulary and pronunciation is very good although that’s hardly surprising with all the practice she gets! I’m genuinely worried she will get into bother when she starts school in 8 months because of constant talking.

Yes!
We called it the "Wet-weather Wimbledon" stage, on the basis they talked about nothing for hours on end like the presenters when they ran out of tennis to talk about.

Haha I love this! This is exactly what it’s like just constant questions, constant observation and when that runs out, singing on repeat, my god when does it end?!

Ends, depends on the child. I think dd1 started pattering out when she went to school and found she didn't need a constant commentary because there was so much else going on.
It's how they make sense of the world at that age.

My 4.5 year old DD is exactly the same! She started reception this September and the only comment I’ve got from them is that her vocabulary is amazing… but I think that’s their polite way to saying she doesn’t shut up 😂
