Don't you *love* it when your kids say something that makes you realise that they *really* understand you?

In the car this morning, and I was playing some music to the kids. I'm a real music nut, one of the greatest joys in life, and I'm very enthusiastic about it.

Said to the kids, 'Listen to this, its so joyful and wonderful' (my usual semi manic over enthusiastic way)

and from the back pipes up dd, 'Just remember to breathe mum!'

LOLOLOLOLOLOL she's just so got me pegged that girl. fantastic. I laughed all the way to their school

I get rather a lot of 'Mummy, we think you're hungry. Would you like a little snack?'

Kathyis6incheshigh · 25/04/2008 10:22

LOLOL at both.
When dd was just starting to talk in sentences we went to Bridlington to eat chips and look at boats. DD was not enjoying it because she was cold and bored and I said 'But dd, you like the seaside.'
She replied, with a withering look, 'Mummy like seaside. Daddy like seaside. DD no like seaside.'

My son is very perceptive. He often says ''your face looks all tight mum. Are you stressed?'' (I usually am! )

And the other day when I said we were going to have a big tidy-up, he came back with ear-plugs for him and ds2, grinned and said: ''er, this means you're going to sing loudly,to your music doesn't it?''

(Got me bang to rights again.I cannot do houswork without music)

bluenosesaint · 25/04/2008 10:25

lmao

I also get "hmmmm, you are giddy mum, do you think you need an early night"

Blandmum · 25/04/2008 10:37

at FMF having a child who can find earplugs.

DD couldn't find a bus if it was parked in the cupboard under the stairs

ah well, dh snores when drunk sometimes so there are always some on my bedside table

motherinferior · 25/04/2008 10:40

DD1 would look vaguely through the bus and wander off.

She also did a very long and accurate imitation of her father Pacing Around Needing Some Quiet the other day.

JossStick · 25/04/2008 10:49

LOL at these.

We sat talking round the dinner table and my DS1 sighed and said

"You're all mad but me"
