Hi:

Second child - currently 5.5 weeks old. Has reflux and is on lansoparazole.

However he is sad and crying every waking moment: basically spends every time he's awake crying or whimpering: will never sit in his bouncer etc or on us even happily even when kept upright.

Has anyone experienced this? Any advice?

I have a toddler too and it's making life so difficult at a time we should all be enjoying as a family.

How long have they been on lansoparazole? Breastfed or formula? Possibly allergies?
I had the same issue with my little one and it ended up being both reflux and dairy intolerance. A combination of reflux meds and me eliminating dairy from my diet made a huge difference.

Honestly I think some babies are just not ready for the world! My second cried constantly for about 10 weeks and then he just snapped out of it and he’s now the happiest little soul.

I know it feels like the end of the world right now but he’s so tiny and this won’t last for long. Just keep holding him and comforting him and one day you’ll realise he isn’t crying as much anymore.

How long he sleeps? If he's under 8 weeks, he should be awake every 4 hours for feed, but keep in mind newborns are noisy sleepers, so many parents woke babies because they think baby is awake. Babies might open the eyes or be noisy when sleeping, but don't be too attentive. Otherwise they will wake up fully.
Did doctors gave any advice regarding his sleeping habit? Babies should sleep on flat surface, because their throat might get squeezed when their chin falls on chests, which may be dangerous. But if he has reflux, have doctors advised he sleeps inclined?

My 2nd baby was like this and it was incredibly difficult. I feel your pain. I had to walk around with her constantly or she'd cry. She hated the pram, car or being anywhere but in my arms walking around. It was really tough.

She did gradually get better and better, but it did take a long time for me to see massive improvements.

BUT she is now 15 months and she's so happy and loves life. Still a velcro baby but hardly ever cries!
