Hello, first time on mumsnet, and in need of advice please. DS 4 years old in Reception, when I collected him from school today I was pulled aside by teacher and told that he had pulled his pants down and shown his willy to a girl in his class, it transpires she asked to see it and he obliged and she laughed! He got sent to the Headmistress, I got a stern talking too, and I'm mortified, is this something that little ones can do, school have made me feel like he is very weird! Help please!

It's normal. School has over reacted. He's 4, not 14.

Thanks, that is exactly what they made me feel.

it's normal BUT school has not over-reacted .. they have to talk to you about body boundaries so that it is reinforced at home that some things are private

so have the talk and forget about it

Happenned to me last year too when my ds was in reception, except he showed his willy to 4 girls. One cried apparantly.

He too was sent to Head, I was pulled aside and I also felt like I was rearing a perv.

You are not alone, and you can laught about it when he is older.

Welcome to Mumsnet btw

I'm sure the teacher and headteacher had a little smile about it in private, but they did have to deal with it. Put it behind you.

(Remember to pass that one to his best man, who can link it into the inevitable repeat on his stag night!!! )

Oh! I thought it was the former Liberal Dem leader that had showed up at your school.
Now that would have been worrying!
