9 month old baby not crawling and hates tummy time

I have a baby boy who has just turned 9 months old. He has always hated tummy time and just cries whenever he is put on his tummy. He has no interest in crawling at all and is just happy to sit and play with his toys. We have tried several things to try and help encourage tummy time but nothing seems to be helping. He has been able to sit unaided since 6 and a half months old and is reaching his milestones but has not interest in crawling yet. Should I be worried? Should I contact the health visitor? Thank you!

Does he like to stand if you’re holding his hands or if he’s holding onto something?
My son never liked tummy time and didn’t crawl - just went straight to walking. Now he’s 1.5 years and you’d never know that he didn’t crawl, so I wouldn’t worry just yet.
Of course contact your health visitor if you feel like there may be something wrong. But if he’s healthy and meeting other milestones then at this stage I wouldn’t worry too much. Just keep encouraging him - maybe help him be on his knees infront of a toy on a coffee table, so he’s practicing using his knees a bit.

If he can stand and bear weight, even if it's against the sofa or holding your hands then I wouldn't be too worried just yet Wink

My friend had a little boy who didn't crawl until 14 months or walk until 18 months. At 2.5 years he is physically developmentally fine and very advanced with language. They are all so different and the checklists and averages scared the hell out of us. It's to early to worry, although i totally understand why you are worried of course!
