A quick question about sleepy toddler

DS (2.4) had some type of vomiting bug yesterday. No temp, but just really sick and not being able to keep anything down. He seems better today, not thrown up this morning, but is very, very sleepy and content to lie on the sofa. This is very different behaviour for my usually hyper (but lovely) little boy.

It's the first time he's had this type of virus as seriously, and I'm guessing that the sleepiness is normal and related to getting over the illness. But would love a bit of reassurance (and it would stop me waking the poor little thing up every 15 mins to check he's not unconscious!)

Thanks,
FMx

Not sure but don't really like the sound of him being excessively sleepy. Might be worth phoning NHS direct or your on-call GP for a bit of advice if you're worried.

is he drinking anything and does he have a temperature

at the end of the day when we feel ill we just want to sleep it off and kids are no different

I don't think that sounds like anything to worry about. He is probably just sleepy from the illness. Does he otherwise seem engaged with the world? i.e. Can you make eye contact with him and is he focussing on things (e.g. the telly?)
Just check for rashes on his body and make sure he doesn't have too many layers on if he's been running a temperature and I'm sure you'll have your boy back to his normal unruly self soon. In the meantime, try and enjoy the peace!
Oh, and if you are still concerned then, yes, call NHS direct as they can run you through any symptoms you need to be worried about.

Keep the liquids up as well (ice lollies are good!)
