Dd will say a sentance, then straight after will say it again, lips mimicking what she has just said. It doesn’t happen all of the time. Just randomly started. She got very upset when i asked her if she knew she was doing it, so never mentioned it again. However She came home from school one day crying saying her friends asked her why she was doing it. Spoke with the school recently who mentioned possibly echolalia,, unsure ??

It could be Echolalia? What did the school suggest? Did they say to ask for any referrals?

How old is your DD?

The HT at school suggested she makes referral(cant remember where for) said it could take a while

she is 8, only started over the last 6/7months

Ok so I'd check, preferably by email so that you have something to look back at, which services she had been referred to, if the referrals has been made and when and how long the usual wait times are Flowers

Sounds like a tic

Wouldn't be echolalia if it's only just started. Tics are very common at that age and come in all shapes and sizes. Everyone in my family had one at some point. I used to repeat a certain word. It passed.
