Carrying baby in arms facing out

FTM here of a very sensitive/fussy little girl, who now seems to hate being in her pram or in her sling. The only thing that seems to settle her is when I carry her in my arms, facing outward, arms around her tum. I'm walking up and down for quite a bit like this before she settles and I can lie her down flat again. I'm just worrying now after reading a lot of stuff about how you shouldn't carry baby in a sling facing outward until six months. Is it the same deal if I'm carrying her like this in my arms do you think?

I can't see why it would be wrong if that's what settles her. How old is she?

I carried dd2 facing outwards from about 3 months because she loved that when not sleepy. I remember walking along with her in peals of laughter because it was raining hard and she loved the feel of it.

She had great head control, which I think is the reason they say from older.
The only issue was she liked to grab at things as we walked past.

Somebody loudly commented and pointed out to their friends that I was doing this wrong with DS at 12 weeks.

He loved it. Full head control and standing up with support in our laps at 8 weeks old.

She's only 8 weeks now...but she has good head control and I'm supporting her in my arms anyway, head back against my chest. It feels okay for me and she seems to love it, like I say it's the only thing that settles her. She likes to be upright, probably for her belly, and because she likes to look around
