My child has developed a tic while eating

Hi. Does anybody have any advice on how to help my 11year old daughter get rid of a tic? She’s had a couple over the years which have come and gone and have only really been noticeable to us her parents.

however her new one is mainly when sewing but she rolls her eyes very exaggerated and it looks like she’s being rude. She can’t control it and we’re hoping it will just go away but she starts high school in September and has struggled with friendships in primary and she is worried this will affect it.

any advice??

My best advice would be to see the GP and ask for a referral to a Paediatrician, especially as she's already had friendship problems in Primary.

Are the High School aware that she may need some social support?

Thank you. I think I will talk to the GP. I was just wary about making it into a bigger thing. No school aren’t aware that she’s had the tic. Not sure if it would be worth mentioning as there’s nothing they can do but at least they’ll know she’s not rolling her eyes at them!

It wasn't necessarily the tic that I was thinking of taking to the new school about, it was more her difficulties socially Flowers
