Stimulation for a 10 wk old

Being a bit of a neurotic mum I am wondering how much stimulation/play a 10 wk old should have. I have a couple of picture books which I 'read' to him' a few times a week. A play mat which I put him on when I have things to do and I try to talk to him as much as possible. I do tummy time when I remember too but he tends to cry after a couple of minutes so I turn him back on his back. What does everyone else do?

talking is lovely ...

i babbled away all the time to my LO

apart from that, just being awake and watching you is stimulatione enough - also, going for a walk and being in the fresh air

IME, it doens't take much to OVER stimulate a very young baby

We go for walks most days but he tends to fall asleep in the pram! I think I tend to worry about all these developmental milestones that everyone talks about rather than just enjoy him. If I have a busy day I worry that I've not paid him enough attention even though I do talk to him all the time. Sometimes, I hold him on my lap and he watches the TV with me (think he likes the colours) and then I worry about watching TV- ha ha!

try not to worry & enjoy him

at 10 weeks he is more than content just sitting on your lap

That's good to hear cos I could really do with the rest!

Lots of cuddles and kisses, everything else is optional if you ask me!

IMO babies this young don't need extra stimulation over and above being close to their mums and seeing what goes on around them. Just enjoy lots of cuddles and cosy chats!

a 10 week old doesn't need "stimulation". ordinary chatting and the odd bit of singing is all they need.

Oh right, so not to worry about books and er, wrist rattles ( a recent purchase of mine) then. Thanks all.
