Any SALTs around to calm a slightly neurotic mother please?

DD is 2.4. I think she has really good speech (though probably biased and had DS2 with delayed speech)

She can construct huge sentences, has a great vocabulary but over the past week she has started to repeated Me or My at the start of her sentences so

'Me going to take my pram to the shop' becomes
'Memememememememememememememememememememememememe going to take my pram to the shop'

Is this just her mounth not working as fast as her brain? Or is is the start of a stutter/speech problem?

And how do I best respond to her? I've not been interupting her and then saying I am going to take my pram to the shop. Is this the right approach?

TIA

Maybe she is trying to make her sentences longer because it sounds better/ more grown up to her?
If you think it is a stammer, don't stop her. The key is to give her time to think about what she wants to say before she says it - which is almost impossible for a 2 year old!
My son says dadda, mamma, lolo, tina " over and over again, because he gets praise and likes the sound of his own voice. He has recently started experimenting and whispering this "chant" of words he knows. Whispering is what he is practicing.
If you are worried about stammering, just keep doing what you're doing! I don't think you have anything to worry about unless it starts distressing her (that is a good sign that something is wrong)
Then using I instead of me would be a good diversion for a "stuck" brain (very untechnical!)

not a SALT, but from what I've read it is a normal phase when language increases (as you say, her mouth not working as fast as her brain)

A period of stammering is very common around that age and a bit older.

Thank you!

I thought it was normal but just having a small panic over it - will stop now

I agree about wanting her sentences to be longer, everything is The big, big car. Me go on red, red fish. We're going all the, all the way to the top of the stairs
