Any advice you can offer would be appreciated. My DN (4) has came to stay last weekend with us. All development seems to be going well and she's a bright, chatty little one. Toilet training was late in my opinion but perhaps fairly normal. She'll be reception in September. Issue I have discovered is that she soils herself, a lot. No wee accidents, and not pooping in her underwear but every time she goes to the bathroom her pants are dirty. Almost like (and I'm sorry TMI) but followed through. Every time. My sil said it happens but because she's never stayed before, I never noticed. Any experience of this? Im changing her pants every time, as I assume her mum does, 4/5 times a day. DN says she doesn't notice, and seems upset that it happened again. Like she doesn't notice. SiL is lovely, but Im not that close with her to feel like I won't offend her. But if you have advice then I could mention something in a roundabout way.

No I don't think that's it. I've wiped properly for her, then just before we leave the house I say go for a wee, and when she sits down, the pants are soiled each time

@tryingsomethingnew haven't experienced first hand, and it may well be wiping (lack of), however is it possible that your DN is constipated? It impacts the bowel and what ultimately comes out is leakage. Constipation blockages can expand the bowel and dulls the sensation so a child doesn't even feel it? I think a trip to GP is the place to start as you need to rule out medical issues

Yes! I think you are right! I remember now you've said it her parents saying she was constipated a lot when younger. Thanks! I can pass this on.
