hiya, my 8 week old is sleeping 8pm through till 4am. As i get up at 5.30 - 6am i am not getting back to sleep after 4am feed and am now getting quite tired. As he is able to sleep for a longer period of time i want to try and get him to sleep say from 10pm onwards, how the hell do i do this?? dont get me wrong i am not trying to get him to sleep thro for my benefit as such, just that if he can do it we may as well do it at the right time so to speak. any thoughts??

you could try a dream feed around 10/11pm

my immediate thought is that it will be a lot easier to train yourself to go back to sleep after the 4am feed and then have a lie in than it will be to mess with the (frankly wonderful-sounding) sleep habits of an 8wo...

I want to know your secret for getting your LO to sleep as long as you do! Lucky thing.
I thought I was doing well to get the odd 6 or 7 hour stint out of my little boy and he's 11 weeks old.

tried the dream feed but he sleeps with tongue in the roof of mouth!!
i have to get up at 5.30 - 6 with other son and hubby, i can quite happily go back to sleep just that it is for half hour if that.

try both! 8pm til 4am is pretty good at that age, and if he manages that long, a dream feed at 10pm may keep him going til six.

not sure how you train yourself to sleep though! maybe blackout blinds for your room too? Seriously, if it's dark when you get back to bed it may help.

are you napping during the day too? comes recommended. i couldn't fall asleep in bed, but crap television knocked me out......

You can try to stretch you feeding time bit by bit... I.e. if you are feeding him at 7.30pm now, you can try to feed him at 7.45pm one day and then move on that way but I agree with the other posters, that could backfire... GL!
