Anyone's baby made wheezing noises but just for fun?

DD (9mo) has been making the odd horrible wheezy noise this morning when she breathes in but not consistently so we're pretty sure there's nothing actually wrong - we think she may have discovered how to make that noise and thinks it's fun to keep doing it. Has anyone else's DC done this? I'm keeping a close eye and will go straight to doctor if it seems a genuine breathing thing, but would love reassurance if anyone else has had this happen in a weird just-for-fun way. Or should I just go to the doc anyway?

DS does this whenever he gets excited about something. He is 8 months and has done it for the past couple of months. I first noticed it when he learned to stand propped up on the sofa, he got so excited i thought he was having an asthma attack but he is fine. He also does it sometimes just to make a noise!

My Ds was actually diagnosed as a 'happy wheezer' when he was about 6mths old.

Basically the doctor said that in some babies (particularly well built ones lol) they can have a wheeze that causes them absolutly no problems at all. He was monitered several times whilst wheezing and was actually fine all of the time.

Thanks, good to hear your LOs are at it too, I think it's definitely an excited thing but it did freak me out a bit!

YES!

My 8 month old has started doing this and was going to post - but I think most mumsnetters think am real paranoid so been limiting my posts...oops side tracking

glad you posted this

my lp def does this and I too think it is a new sound he has realised he can make - he sounds as if having an asthma attack yet looks completely as if he isnt!
