what should a 2yo drawing be like? The next Picasso or OCD?!

I'm fascinated by my ds's drawings. He doesn't scribble continuously, but draws individual small lines or squiggly circles very carefully. His pen doesn't stay on the page for very long. He's 2.2.

Is this normal?

My dd2 who is nearly 2 draws what I think are attempts at little spirals or circles. Always the same.

I also have a lovely one from DD one when 18 months.

I think it is normal. My DD1 who is now 4 can do excellent drawings or crappy scribbles depending on her mood.

I think they're supposed to be able to copy a circle by about 2/3yrs and a cross by about 3yrs although I guess some variation is usual.

My ds who is almost 2.2 has started doing this too, phlossie. He is very proud of his dots and little lines - I think it calls for more control than the great big lines he's been doing up until now.

My nearly 2 year old tries to do very careful "squares" but they come out like triangles - anyhoo, she does them very small and very concentrated so I think it sounds normal?
