School drop off with specific teachers

Good day

We have sent our daughter to school for a while now and she is usually the very happy and busy one. She's not naughty just very curious as to how things work and she loves exploring.

Our normal routine involves us walking to school and then her running into class but recently that has somewhat changed.

This morning everything was normal and we were a bit early to get class, so we could walk around inside and she showed me all her favourite characters on the one wall, but when the "new" teacher walked in she kept hiding behind me and when I hugged her she was super clingy. She never hugs me longer for 2 seconds so for me this is very concerning.

We also noted the at she doesn't want to go to the potty any more and started screaming in the evenings when we put her to sleep.

At first I thought she might not be ready for the potty and she is just dreaming but after this mornings events I'm starting to worry about what is happening in the school.

Any good advice on how to approach this? Should we ask the other teachers how this new teacher is or go to the principal immediately?

I'm not just going to sit and watch this unfold, but some wisdom from previous examples would be appreciated

On what grounds are you going to go to the principle? Are you suggesting that the teacher has in some way done something to your daughter? What would you expect the other teachers to say about their colleague? Given that they also operate in a professional capacity.

It seems like a very bizarre reaction that really you have no grounds for. How old is your daughter? Is it possible that because the teacher is new she's yet to build a rapport with her and therefore is shy? That seems quite common behaviour.

I would understand if she takes a while to warm up to people, but she is a very outgoing child. She usually runs up to people and waves at them.

She's only 2 so she can't really tell us if something is wrong so we just have her behaviour to work from. The teacher has been at the school for 2 weeks now and it's only towards him that she is this taken back on. Other teachers (male and female) she has no worries about.

I can understand that teachers would work in a professional manner, just as anyone would in office, but children for me are a more sensitive topic that teens/adults.

I don't want to wait and say oops o well if something happened and we just stood by and watched
