Ds 2.9 had a funny day:

  1. He had a whole conversation with the recycling bin (hello bin, nice day, going out now, bye bye box bin, see you later bin)
  1. Pointed to the brand name on the dishwasher and spelt the letters out saying "B-O-S-C-H spells dishwasher"
  1. Pointed to himself very proudly and said 'I tall', then pointed to his knees and said 'tall knees', pointed to his tummy and said 'tall tummy' and then pointed to his you know what and said 'tall willy'!! Didn't realise men started boasting about the size of their tackle this young!

I love this age!

Lol at your ds.
Whilst in the post office my dd1 picked up a leaflet and walked home with it waving in the wind shouting that it was a kite. then found a stick that she held upright and that became an umbrella!
Your right its a great age(most of the time).

Yes I bet I'll be posting on here tomorrow something like 'Highly irritating things your child(ren) did today'.

Cute re the kite and brolly.

Ds has also started pointing at absolutely nothing and saying there is a dog or his dad there..!? What is that about....sounds like he is a prime candidate for an imaginary friend soon.

LOL - I love these.

Ds - 2.11 - who loves his Power Rangers outfit, watched me getting dressed this morning. I had an important lunch and was putting on a smart skirt and top, as well as makeup. Ds said: "Mommy - what are you getting dressed up as?"

He also is so proud about growing and goes on about it all the time. "I am growing, mommy. Look, I am getting tall." However, he also explains the fact that he is (slowly) catching up with me by telling me that I am shrinking. I wish!

My daughter, five very soon, sighed today and said
"I just can't believe I'm 5, I'll be 6 soon"
with an oh boy time flies expression on her face.

I laughed but she was cross with me for laughing.

DD2 (nearly 2) having breakfast at the table whilst still in her jarmies...puts both feet on table (legs splayed out) and says 'mummy want cheesie feet on (your) toast?' . Hardly seen my DCs today

When I was telling my son that we wouldn't have time for a story if he wanted to watch the end of his program (he's 4) he picked out a story and said he'd listen to the story with this ear and to the telly with this ear as that is why he has 2 ears

We have a student staying with us at the moment, and when I was telling DS (6) that Gianni can count to ten in 3 languages because he comes from Switserland, he proudly stated that he can count to 100 in English and started counting!

my ds 2.5 had disturbed night coz of ear infection, so was thrashing around a bit in bed, and several times woke crying coz 'bed was broke' i.e. pillow and teddies on floor, he's upside down, etc.

When I went in to him this morning, he is liberally smearing himself with vaseline (got it off his drawer unit some how) and his teddies were on the rug next to his bed.

'Oh hello mummy' he says, 'I've put my teddies on the naughty spot!'
'Oh yes' I say, 'why's that then?'
'they keep being naughty and getting out of bed at night' he says!!!!! wot a lovey!!!!

dd 2.2 told me she was 'older mama' when I came into her bedroom this morning.
She then pointed to the lego stashed on top of her wardrobe and said 'have toys now Mama!' as I had said she couldn't have them until she was older (meaning 3, because of the teeny pieces). Why do they never forget anything you say...except when you don't want them to?

DD1 (2.7):

See saw, Marjorie Daw, Johnny shall have a new maaaaaaaaaaaaaaster [great Somerset accent coming along nicely] , he shall earn but a penny a dy, cos he can't get to work faaaaaaaaaaster, someone's in the way of his car.

dd (3) asked if she could dip chips in her glass of water.

Me "no, why do you want to do that?"

dd "because that's the kind of child I am"

susiecutiebananas · 07/04/2008 23:06

DD ( 15 months) stole my orange kit-kat from the table, and ate through the wrapper, then ate the whole thing. She's never even seen on before, as first time i'd ought them!

Anyway, I went up to her, after the event and said in a very stern voice ( trying not to laugh as she had it all around her face and little bits of the wrapper spat out all over the sofa) "what have you been doing" she looked up at me with a huge grin and said "choglog ?"

A bit later, I found her unwrapping a lemon locket, putting it in her mouth, obviously being shocked and disgusted,(by her reaction) so she took it out for a bit, then put it back in again, same reaction.. and so this went on, until she'd nearly eaten the whole thing! strange little thing she is.

DontCallMeBaby · 07/04/2008 23:07

DD (4) looking at pictures of herself as a witch last Halloween, 'ohh, look, I'm soooo sweet!' Now how do you explain to a 4yo that you can say that about a cat, someone else's baby, even yourself as a 2yo, but it's a bit weird when it's yourself six months ago?!

(she IS soooo sweet though, mostly)
