How do tell your parents in the nicest possible way that you don't want them seeing there new grandchild if they can't follow the rules that have been put in place when smoking is involved. And feel like one grandparent has barged there way into the home and made it so overbearing as she traveled up from London

I simply just don't know what to do

I would just say that if someone has smoked then they can’t hold the baby / come near the baby/ be in the room with the baby (whatever your choice is). Like say ‘As baby is so young we are following medical guidance and would like anyone who has smoked to put in a change of clothes before seeing baby’. I guess it’s similar to telling people they can’t kiss baby as well. We used to just say it as soon as someone came in the door. Literally ‘Hi, baby is just feeding then he’ll be ready for cuddles. Please don’t kiss him though as there’s lots of colds going round at the moment’. I find being blunt but casual is the easiest way to be honest.
