Worries around 10 month olds development

He has just turned ten months.
Babbles a lot.
Very smiley, generally laid back.
Very good with eye contact.
Knows his name.

Areas of concern

Not crawling yet (not really a Concern, I suspect he will do it soon as he rolls or pivots to where he wants to get to atm)
Doesn't clap
Doesn't wave (maybe once or twice but haven't been able to get him to do it since)
Cocks his head when he's looking at something intently. He does it on both sides but more on his right maybe. Mentioned this to the Doctor & he's been referred for an eye test but they couldn't see any issue with his eyes when he was examined.
Flexes his hands a lot (opening & closing them)

My DD who is now 6 said her first word by his age & was waving. It's hard not to compare though I know I shouldn't.

He did have viral meningitis when he was born & was very poorly however recovered quickly. We were told prognosis is typically normal but ADHD is more prevalent in children who have had viral meningitis.

The internet is probably the worst place to potentially have my worries alleviated as it could back fire but just thought I'd put it out there to see if I'm over thinking or not.

That's interesting, I didn't know that fact. I always thought that ADHD was genetic?

Anyway, he sounds absolutely fine.

I'd do this simple SLT progress checkerr* and come back to us if it says he needs some support.

If you are really worried you could start doing some sighs with him, have a look at Makaton.

You could also ask the HV to do the Social & Emotional Ages and Stages when she does the regular 12 month Ages & Stages.
