Is this normal toddler boy behaviour?

bit embarrasing really, ds has spent the last hour face down lying on the sofa, fully clothed nappy on, humping his blankie and grunting. he's getting very hot and sweaty, when i try to get him to stop he tells me to go away. when i asked him "what are you doing?" he told me "rubbing willy on mumu (blankie)".

I had a visitor come to the house and we sat in the kitchen as i didnt know what to do.

he's 2 and a half.

An old thread I know, but I'm so pleased to see this, and that others call it 'humping!' My ds1 is 2.5 and although has been doing it for a while a few weeks ago he started humping during sleeping bunnies at the church playgroup - I just pretended I didn't notice and busied myself with ds2! he now knows to only do it in his own room but frequently asks if he can go to his room and hump!

solidgoldbrass · 01/09/2008 20:02

They all do it. Nothing wrong with it at all. It feels pleasurable so they like doing it: just advise them to do it in private and don't get stressed.

ClareVoiant · 01/09/2008 20:05

lol carlygarrett, ds is still at it, but mostly in front the telly now, if he does it anywhere else, i distract him with sweets
still, it keeps him quiet...

My dd is nearly 2 and keeps playing with herself. Whenever I change her nappy she says 'see botbot' and then has a good dig around down there. It's horrible but I don't want to tell her not to in case she gets some kind of hang up about it.

Mogsmum · 01/09/2008 20:18

This thread has just had me crying with laughter and relief that my DS is not the only who loves playing with his willy. Granted he soesn't go round humping the furniture, but he loves to watch the telly in the evening with his willy in his hand. Boys they can never let go.....

kentgirl73 · 01/09/2008 20:38

since he ws out of nappies, he constantly has his hand down his trousers, likes to get naked and sit there pulling, stretching it to really long lenghts - his new one is to sit there and call me to say look big now!!!

solidgoldbrass · 01/09/2008 20:48

Now how can I get mine to stop shoving his hand down his pants and scratching his arse?

Mogsmum · 01/09/2008 21:10

SGB - you talking about your DS or DH?

StealthPolarBear · 01/09/2008 21:24

My Ds is 16 months. I suppose I have it all to come but U have to admit to reading the OP and thinking- fantastic - he must have entertained himself in peace for ages!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 16/07/2009 17:10

Am going to resurrect as have been digging around the archives for something on this - I knew there would be something somewhere!

DS hasn't reached these proportions just yet, although he did advise this morning "I'm waving my willy at you"

We then went to the loo for his morning potty trip, and he announced as he was climbing down "we go back to bedroom and I play with my willy now"

Assumed was all normal, but always good to find a thread backing it up

2littlemonkies · 17/07/2009 12:21

This thread made me laugh last year and has done again today - great to see it back!!!!

euromum · 17/07/2009 12:49

Oh god I hadn't seen this thread before and am rofl! All this to come - ds is 7 weeks old! But 2 year old DD also likes to 'explore' in the bath/during nappy changes. Well well.

KTNoo · 17/07/2009 16:13

Hilarious!

DS is just out of night-time pull-ups and I take him to the toilet before I go to bed otherwise he wets the bed. He is always half asleep and doesn't remember the next day.

Last night I lifted him onto the toilet as usual but didn't realise he was pointing upwards, so me and the bathroom got sprayed!

Will remember to check next time.

posieparkerinChina · 17/07/2009 16:22

My ds when 3 told my mother to look at his bits as they were 'enormous' although not as big as Daddy's as his would fill the room!!!

phlossie · 17/07/2009 17:48

Op - don't offer him a biscuit! Can you imagine when he's grown up and just had some action with a lady and then needs to roll over and eat a hobnob?!

I'm joking of course. It's my dd (21mo) who's the 'sensation seeker' in our house. I don't want to put her off, but on the trampoline in full view of the neighbours really does make me blush!

Beanmum · 19/07/2009 11:44

Aah, the relief of reading this thread. My ds (3yrs 4mo) has recently taken to pouring a jug of water over his parts in the bath, giggling uproariously and saying "look Mummy, my willy's really BIG"... I started off by taking the "that's nice dear" approach, trying not to make a big deal and moving quickly on to the next thing. However, he's beginning to get a bit obsessed and I keep walking in to find him looking at a storybook and having a good old fiddle Don't want to be giving him a complex, but equally need to somehow instil that this is not appropriate in public! (It is simultaneously really funny and really disquieting!)
