Car seat screamer! Help!

As the title says, my 1 year old will happily sit in her car seat if I’m in the back
with her but as soon as I get in the front and she’s sitting by herself then she is absolutely hysterical and gets herself in some states. I’m fine with sitting in the back to keep her company, however I have a solo hour long drive coming up and I need to take her with me.. has anyone had this issue before and if so, how did you overcome it?

I know people will moan it’s not good for them, but you need to concentrate on driving and not be overwhelmed. What about putting phone or tablet on the back hung up so she can watch something (just make sure to have the setting as auto play on so you don’t need to click watch next episode) if you’re happy to do this, make sure no tv time for a day or two so it’ll grab her attention for the whole journey (hopefully) I only had short journeys in the past and it was usually getting her in the car that was an issue when older (and if that happens in the future keep some little biscuits in the car to get her into the seat)

Does the front of your car have isofix could she go in her seat in the front?

I realise this is not as safe but possibly safer than her screaming and you driving stressed more likely to cause an accident? Plus she'd be in her car seat anyway so I think how not as safe it is would be negligible especially assuming she's rear facing anyway?

Good idea! Just remember to turn off the airbag if you put the car seat in the front
