5 month old crying constantly

My DD is 5.5m old (she was 4 weeks premature) when she was 5 weeks old she started crying inconsolably for hours every day. Nothing would console her, the only thing that helped was walking her in her pram for hours on end everyday (which wasn't sustainable with winter!)

We were to and from the doctors, changed her milk, saw an osteopath, tried every colic remedy under the sun etc etc. At around 4.5m she changed and became a lovely smiley baby.. great! However, the last few weeks, the crying/screaming is back and it's relentless. Basically, if she's not napping or feeding, she's screaming. We're all at our wits end and I just don't know where to go from here. She just never seems settled and content. I take her out a lot to change scenery and I get about 45 mins at baby groups before she kicks off and I have to leave through embarrassment.

I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for from this post, but I'm hoping someone will tell me that they've been through the same and it does come to an end!! Or do we just have a really whingy baby?? 😭

Just to add, she sleeps like a dream at night, so it's not all bad, but I find myself wishing the days away and looking forward to returning to work 🙈 I feel like I'm really not enjoying maternity leave and feel awful saying that.

I'm having the same issue, but my baby doesn't sleep so I don't get any respite.

Oh goodness, it's awful isn't it? Sorry you're suffering too. I'm really glad she sleeps at night, otherwise I'd have gone insane by now - I hope you're coping ok

have you tried to see if calpol helps at all? not as a solution or anything, but if it does help it might indicate something like teeth or her ears bothering her, that might not bother her when she's asleep?

Yes we've used all of the teething stuff, calpol, anbesol liquid, teething powder, gels etc 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm at a loss now to be honest!

Have you had her ears checked for infection/glue ear?

My baby has had her ears checked. I think it's down to her reflux issues. The sleep issues are just her I think. She has started making a horrible growl/groaning noise now to get attention and it goes through you. She won't have a dummy, but I'm looking to introduce one to help soothe her, hopefully.
