This might be a little long.
My son is 3. He has some delays, and has a texture aversion to some foods. He doesn't like anything crunchy, and he is a very selective eater. I will say..he is a HEALTHY eating kid. He doesn't like any sugary items..no cake, ice cream, lollipops, not even juice. He drinks water and lactose free milk. He eats like a vegan..his main meal is avacado and boiled eggs. Loves hummus. Loves apples, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, squash, almond butter, blueberries, grapes, coconut yogurt, greens, carrots, beans. Occasionally I'll sneak some ground turkey or beef with lactose free cottage cheese in there, and I put whole grain cheerios or mashed up toast in his breakfast.
For the last 7-8 months now we've been struggling with chronic diarrhea. He doesn't poop all the time, maybe 2-3 times a day but it's never a normal solid poop. He had C-diff in December, we treated it and it wad normal for a few weeks but then the diarhea came back. All tests have so far come back with no health issues. He stands 3'4" and is 41 lbs. He is allergic to lactose and peanuts, which are nowhere in his diet. We got him tested for a milk and wheat allergy, negative. The only thing we've really added was the yogurt, and now sometimes he'll eat pear, apple, peach ect. In the afternoon.
He literally eats 2 bananas a day, mixed up with other fruits and veggies, and 2 avacado's and 2 boiled eggs (one each for lunch and dinner), plus hummus, beans, cheerios, some bread and some meat if I can sneak it in. Because of his delays he doesn't eat a ton of different foods..but could it be possible that he is eating too much sugar which is causing his diarhea? We have some more indepth testing to do this month to eliminate inflammatory markers but we did one already and everything came back negative. Everyone tells me its great that he eats so healthy..but Im not sure. My only concern is if we pull too much of his food, I don't know what else we will feed him.
