Hello everybody. I'm looking after our DD most Thursdays and Fridays during term time. Having entered the 'terrible twos', she's becoming so strong willed and it's such an effort to get her out. We used to go to 'Nature Tots', a kind of forest school experience at our local nature reserve but I've not managed the last three meetings due to her refusing to get in the car seat. This morning, I couldn't even get her to put her leggings on, let alone a jumper, coat, socks and boots. It's all so dispiriting and makes me feel a total failure as a father. I'd hoped we might do the family supermarket run in the afternoon, but there was similar resistance and I didn't have the energy to battle with her again. All she seems to want is 'Daddy cuddles', Peppa Pig, and her Mummy (she's still breastfed and not showing any sign of stopping). She will get on with crafts at home (currently obsessed with glitter!) and play with toys, but with the weather improving, I think I'll go mad if I can't get her out at least once a day! She's due to start nursery next month but I have NO idea how I'm going to get her into the car for this. This morning I tried cuddles, nursery rhymes on the iPad, a quick sit in the drivers' seat, and (reluctantly) a couple of chocolate button bribes, but to no avail. Friends and family tell me that this will phase will pass. I just hope I don't go insane first... Anyone else struggling with this? Any tips or bits of reassuring advice welcome!
